Nagamachi Samurai District

During the Edo period, the Nagamachi Samurai District was the home to many upper-class samurai of the Kaga (present day Ishikawa prefecture) domain. Roads were made very complicated, to avoid enemies to come in to the city.

Today, the area is protected by the city of Kanazawa as an area of scenic townscape. The streets are packed with cafes and gift shopsthat feature items from Ishikawa. Why not rent out a kimono and stroll the Nagamachi Samurai District?
