Hida Kokubun-ji Temple Three-Storied Pagoda Tower

Hida Kokubun-ji Temple

Hida Kokubunji Temple, located in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, was built by the orders of Shoumu Emperor in 741. There are many cultural properties within the grounds, such as Takayama's designated cultural property, Shoro Gate, the main temple of the Muromachi Period, and Hida district's only three-storied pagoda tower. The large gingko tree, that looks over the historic buildings, turns bright red in the autumn. Inside, there are many fortunes that will protect you from misfortune and troubles.
