Exterior of Rokkosaki lighthouse

Rokkosaki

Rokkosaki is a cape on the northernmost point of the Noto peninsula in Ishikawa prefecture. It is a part of the Noto Hanto Quasi-National Park. Senjoshiki, or the raised terrace under the cliff, is an amazing sight. The flat rocks lie just beneath the waters. The view of the sunset and sunrise at Senjoshiki is absolutely breathtaking. The lighthouse on the cape was built in 1883 by a British engineer. It is chosen as one of the 50 Lighthouses of Japan. The lighthouse is unstaffed, and is open to the public a few times a year.
