View of Takogawa Onsen on the edge of Lake Ashi

Located in Hakone, Kanagawa prefecture is Takogawa Onsen, one of the 17 hot springs of Hakone. It is the newest of the 17 hot springs and can be found near the Hakone-en resort area at the edge of Lake Ashi. Onsen development began here before the second world war and finally came to fruition in 1987 when a hot spring was found. 130 liters of natural spring water flows from the hot spring every minute. The spring is a calcium sulfate type and is good for nerve and joint pain, and chronic dermatitis.
