Owakudani

Owakudani
Owakudani locates in the Sengokubara Area of Hakone in Kanagawa prefecture. The Owakudani area was formed about 3,000 years ago, after Mount Hakone erupted and created a crater. Mount Hakone is still an active volcano, and you can still visually see the volcanic activity at Owakudani. To get an amazing aerial view of Owakudani, take the Hakone Ropway. From the ropeway, you can see Owakudani from above. The aerial view is especially amazing during the autumn season, when the trees on the mountain begin changing colors.
