Sengokubara Onsen can be found at the base of Mt. Kintokiyama in Hakone, Kanagawa prefecture. Located in a crater basin plateau, Sengokubara onsen gets its water from fumaroles in the area. It is one of the 17 hot springs of Hakone. The calcium sulphate spring water is gentle on the skin and popular with female bathers because of its beautifying effects. There are plenty of lodgings and day spas here.
Mt. Fuji can be seen from some of the hot spring inns, and visiters can enjoy liberating natural views while in the bath. A must-see spot in Sengokuhara is the Sengokuhara susuki grass fields. It was selected as one of the 100 best picturesque sceneries of Kanagawa prefecture. The peaceful grass fields turn green in the spring and gold in the fall.
