Hakone Museum of Photography
Hakone Museum of Photography
Hakone Museum of Photography stands in the Gora area in Hakone-machi, Kanagawa Prefecture. In 2002, Mr. Katsura Endo, the director born in Hakone, opened the museum to preserve and utilize his grandfather’s photographs and equipment that has been passed on through generations in his family. Exhibited in the museum, which stands surrounded by nature, are photographs of Mount Fuji taken by the director with an 8×10 large format camera. In addition, they offer temporary exhibitions on a regular basis. The museum has a café Plaisir de l’œuf, where you can enjoy cake made by a patisserie who studied in Paris. Moist and simple tasting delicious pound cakes and special menu items are available at the café.
