Tamura Ginkatsu-tei Main Restaurant
Tamura Ginkatsu-tei Main Restaurant
Tamura Ginkatsu-tei Main Restaurant" is located about a 1-minute walk from Gora Station in Hakone-machi, Kanagawa Prefecture. This small restaurant, with a long history, was founded in 1973. The restaurant attracts many customers daily for its specialty tofu dish "Tofu Katsu-ni." The restaurant has a noren (traditional Japanese curtain) hanging, creating a very Japanese ambiance which appeals to foreign tourists. Another appealing feature is its traditionally Japanese interiors design and scenery. Seats are available in tatami rooms and at tables. The restaurant's signature dish "Tofu Katsu-ni " is also known as a Gora specialty. For this signature dish, they purchase "Shakkuri Tofu" from "Gin Dofu," a tofu store in the neighborhood. They deep fry sandwiched domestic ground pork and cover it with eggs. The rich, sweet dried mackerel soup has a naturally sweet taste to it from the long leek and onions. The ratio of ground pork and tofu is also exquisite, therefore, the dish is juicy yet fresh.
