Gora Onsen
Gora Onsen
Gora Onsen can be found 700 meters above sea level in Hakone, a town in the southwest region of Kanagawa prefecture. It is one of the 17 hot springs of Hakone. The hot spring facilities in Gora were set up after 1912. The Gora Onsen was developed from a grassland to a Western-style plateau resort by taking water from the Sounzan area. Gora Onsen is also known as the pastel-colored onsen for its five colors, including a milky white and light yellow. Each of the five hot springs also have different spring types which can be tested out by visiting different inns. Nearby is Gora Park, the first French garden in Japan. Gora Station is a vital part of Hakone sightseeing, connecting the Hakone Tozan Line and the Hakone Tozan Cable Car.
