Sculpture Forest Museum
“Sculpture Forest Museum” is located in Hakone, Kanagawa. In 1969, it opened as the first outdoor museum in Japan. It is a museum where you can experience various sculptures with magnificent nature. About 120 sculptures are exhibited at the outdoor exhibition hall that boasts a whopping 70,000 square meters. In addition, there are five exhibition halls in total, including the “Picasso Hall”, where the world-renowned Picasso works are displayed. There is also the “Indoor Exhibition Hall”, where events are planned and exhibited. The highlight is the giant sculpture, “Symphony for Happiness”. With a height of 18m, and an inner diameter of 8m. Stained glass is embedded in the entire inner wall, creating a fantastic atmosphere with the sunlight. There are also plenty of facilities such as onsens , restaurants and shops selling souvenirs.
