Miyagino Onsen
Miyagino Onsen
Miyagino Onsen is located in Hakone town of western Kanagawa prefecture. The onsen lies at the base of the Myojingatake and Myojogatake caldera peaks. It started gaining popularity in 1955, and is relatively new amongst the 17 hot springs of Hakone. The area was named after Miyagi prefecture because of the similar climate and natural features that allows hagi (Japanese clover) to grow naturally. The spring types include simple alkaline, chloride and sulphate springs with sodium and calcium. The hot springs are on the side of the popular Myojingatake and Myojogatake hiking spots. A relaxing soak in the hot springs will melt away any fatigue left after hiking.
