Enoshima Sea Candle Enoshima Sea Candle is a lighthouse and observatory on the island of Enoshima, just off of the Shonan Coast. The observatory lies 119.6 meters above the ground, and gives off a stuning view of Enoshima and the Shonan Coast. On clear days, you can see as far as the Izu Peninsula and Mount Fuji/ Enoshima Sea Candle was built in 2002 as a celebration of the 100th anniversary of Enoshima Electric Railway (commonly known as Enoden). You can get to the observatory by stairs or by elevator. The walls around the staircase leading up to the observatory are all glass, giving you a beautiful view before reaching the observatory. Visit in the winter season to see the Shonan no Hoseki illumination event. Between late November and early February, parts of Enoshima are decorated with winter lights.
